ABHAY 2 REVIEW: A gut – churning mystery thriller that will have you hooked

Kunal Kemmu is back as investigator Abhay Pratap Singh for the second season of ZEE5 original web-series Abhay. The first five episodes of this Ken Ghosh directed crime-thriller have already dropped and the remaining episodes are all set to release on 29th september.

After the success of season 1, this new season ups the game with some more blood-filled crimes and gut-churning criminals. Abhay’s journey on the road to justice continues as he hunts down vile murderers and dangerous lawbreakers on loose in lucknow. Each episode brings forth a new horrid crime for the UP-based sleuth to solve, who tries to test his limits by taking on some bigger challenges. These spine-chilling crimes, in-depth investigations, and murder mysteries keep the viewers engaged into the story.

From a serial killer who drinks brain soup, to a prostitute who murders men, the show brings some powerful villains to the fore. Ram Kapoor plays the role of the main antagonist who causes havoc in Abhay’s life with his twisted mind games. The mystery surrounding Ram Kapoor’s character and his motives make the story a lot more intriguing. The writing and screenplay is brilliantly done, as it maintains the mystery and thrill that keeps viewers glued to the edge of their seats. The series manages to keep you engrossed and entertained throughout the 5 episodes.

The cast is also extremely well-thought-out and each actor has done justice to their role. Chunkey Pandey has made his OTT debut through this series, by taking on the role of a serial killer who drinks brain soup by chopping intelligent people’s heads. Bidita Bag has portrayed the role of a psychotic killer, who hunts down and murders men in an attempt to take her revenge. Ram Kapoor plays the role of the main villain, and though he enters a little late into the show, he still manages to bring an air of mystery and intrigue with him. Asha Negi has taken on the role of a feisty television journalist, and Nidhi Singh has played Abhay Pratap Singh’s assistant officer. All these actors have given brilliant performances that are convincing to the core. Kunal Kemmu has also done complete justice to the role of Abhay Pratap Singh with his restrained acting, upright posture, amazing dialogue delivery, and a perfectly chiseled body.

Another commendable aspect about the series is it’s incredible cinematography and background score. Ken Ghosh has chosen the perfect locations to improve the overall look and mood of the show. The background score also adds to the excitement of the viewers, increasing the level of suspense and agitation.

Abhay 2 is an engaging series. It will keep you engrossed with its edge-of-the-seat drama. The first five episodes are now streaming on ZEE5.
