Congratulations to Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan who are celebrating their 47th wedding anniversary today. Yes, it has been 47 years of togetherness for the lovely couple. Amitabh Bachchan marked the occasion by sharing some adorable throwback photos from their wedding day. Along with the photos, he also recalled how the success of his film Zanjeer and his wish to go to London with Jaya led to their marriage. In his caption, he wrote, “47 years..today..June 3, 1973..!! Had decided if Zanjeer would succeed, we would along with a few friends go to London for the first time .. My father asked who you going with? When i told him who, he said you must marry her before you go .. else you don’t go .. so.. I obeyed ..!!

Throughout the years, Mr. and Mrs. Bachchan have done many movies together including Bansi Birju, Zanjeer, Abhimaan, Mili, Chupke Chupke, Sholay, Silsila, and many more. Bansi Birju, their first film together, was released in 1972. They got married one year after the release of their first film together.
