Karishma Kapoor has given many hit films in her acting career. She was one of the most commercially successful and talked about heroines of the 90’s. She has worked with many famous actors, including Aamir Khan, Salmaan Khan, and Govinda. She has given a total of 47 films. Today, on her birthday, we are counting down her top 10 hit films. 

1. Raja Hindustani (1996)

This romantic-drama film tells the story of a cab driver who falls in love with a rich woman. Raja Hindustani was the third most commercially successful Hindi film of the 1990’s in terms of net gross. The film’s music was also a big hit with songs like Pardesi Pardesi and Pucho Zara Pucho

2. Hero No. 1 (1997)

This comedy-drama, directed by David Dhawan, shows the love story of Rajesh Malhotra (Govinda), and Meena (Karishma Kapoor). The two lover’s decide to marry, but when Meena’s parents object, Rajesh disguises as a servant in Meena’s home in an attempt of winning over her father. Some songs from this film, including Sona Kitna Sona Hai and Main Paidal se Jaa Raha Tha, were major hits and are remembered till date.  

3. Dil to Pagal Hai (1997)

A musical based on a love triangle between Rahul, Pooja and Nisha. Through this film, Yash Chopra tried to convey the message that true love exists for everyone and your soulmate is somewhere out there waiting for you. If you also don’t believe in love like Rahul, you will start believing in it once you watch this film.

4. Andaz Apna Apna (1994)

two slackers- Amar and Prem, compete with each other to win the heart of a rich heiress and in turn end up protecting her from crimes. This comedy film was released 26 years ago, but it is still considered a cult classic, and is packed with laughter-inducing scenes and hilarious dialogues. 

5. Biwi No. 1 (1999)

This comedy drama revolves around a housewife whose husband leaves her for another woman and thus starts her quest to bring him back. Alongside Karishma Kapoor, this film also stars Salman Khan, Sushmita Sen, Anil Kapoor, and Tabu in significant roles. 

6. Coolie No. 1 (1995)

Raju, a coolie by profession, gets hired to masquerade as a wealthy man so that he can marry a rich man’s daughter. This film is a comedy-drama and includes many hilarious scenes. 

7. Judwaa (1997)

Judwaa is an action-comedy film that revolves around twin brothers- Prem and Raja, who get separated after birth, but later find each other and join forces to defeat a common enemy. Karishma plays the role of Raja’s lover in this film.

8. Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999)

This film is a perfect family entertainer. It became a hit for its perfect portrayal of Indian traditional values and also the importance of love and family.

9. Raja Babu (1994)

Raja Babu falls in love with Madhu (Karishma Kapoor) but gets rejected by her and learns that he was adopted from a poor family. This encourages him to become a better son and lover. 

10. Jeet (1996)

The story of a feared hitman, who falls in love with an associate’s daughter while on a mission.
