Taapsee Pannu, Huma Qureshi and many more raise concerns about unbelievable surge in electricity bills

Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu, Huma Qureshi, Renuka Shahane, and several others are expressing their shock over the unbelievable surge in their electricity bill received for the month of June. 

Sharing a screenshot of her bill on twitter, Taapsee wrote, “Three months of lockdown and i wonder what appliance(s) i have newly used or bought in the apartment only last month to have such an insane rise in my electricity bill.” 

Tagging Adani Electricity, she also asked, “What kind of power are you charging us for?” according to her post, Taapsee’s electricity dues went from being Rs. 4,390 in April to Rs. 36,000 in June.  

In another tweet, she said she received a bill of Rs. 8,640 for an apartment which is not even in use. Replying to this, Actor Pulkit Samrat shared that he also received a bill of Rs. 30,000. 

Taapsee is not the only celebrity who has raised complaints regarding the sudden hike in electricity bills. Huma Qureshi, Vir Das, Renuka Shahane, and many others are also speaking out on the matter. 

Huma Qureshi tweeted, “What are these new electricity rates?? @Adani_Elec_Mum Last month i paid 6k.. And this month 50k???!!! What is this sudden price surge? Kindly enlighten us.”

Renuka Shahane also shared her shock as she wrote, ““Dear @Adani_Elec_Mum I got a bill of Rs5510/= on the 9th of May while in June I got a bill of Rs 29,700 combining May and June where you’ve charged me Rs 18, 080 for the month of May. How did Rs.5510/= become Rs.18080/?”
