On Monday, Karan Johar revealed through a post on social media that two members of his domestic help were tested positive for COVID-19. In a statement that he posted online, he wrote, “As soon as the symptoms were detected, they (his staff members) were put under quarantine in a section of our building. The BMC was informed immediately, and the building has been fumigated and sterilized by them as per the norms.”

He further added that the rest of his family and staff members have tested negative but will remain in self-isolation for the next 14 days to make sure that all the prescribed measures are being adhered to. He also ensured that the ill members of his staff will be provided with the best treatment and care.

He ended his note by requesting everyone to stay home and stay safe. He wrote, “These are difficult times but by staying in our homes and taking the right precautions, there is no doubt in my mind that we can defeat this virus. Stay home everyone and stay safe.”

The staff members were living with Karan in his house at Carter Road, Mumbai. The 48-year-old filmmaker lives with his mother and his two children- Yash and Roohi.  Last week, three of Boney Kapoor’s domestic staff members were also tested positive for COVID-19. The total number of coronavirus cases in Mumbai have crossed 50,000 with more than 1600 deaths.
